Are you serious about understanding the Swan study?
Then read this.
Dr. Rebecca Goldin, a PhD mathematician at George Mason University and the Statistical Assessment Service (STATS), has followed the story of Shanna Swan’s study on infant boys from the outset. True to the mission of STATS, she’s been critical of the media over-reporting such a questionable study. Dr. Goldin also doesn’t shy from pointing out that Swan has been “irresponsible” in her promotion of her research and her gross overstatements of what the study demonstrates.
Dr. Goldin has been following recent commentary on Swan's work and a correction published by Dr. Swan. In light of the correction, Dr. Goldin has revisited the issue of the value of the study. You can read about it in the attached report. It is a long piece, but whether you’re from industry, the media, or the ranks of the anti-chemical lobby, if you want to know what the Swan study really shows, as opposed to what the media (and Dr. Swan) say it shows, click on this link.
